“How To Make It Through Difficult Times”
Before I actually deal with this matter of “How To Make It Through Difficult Times”, I need to deal with the Reality of Difficult Times. In doing so I would have you to know that regardless of whom you are, your position or your pay scale, all of us at times in life will face Difficult Times. It was Job who said “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble” (Job 14:1). Jesus even said “that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). Then too, James says “count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations (various trials) (James 1:2); Finally, Peter says “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial that is to try you, as though some strange thing is happened unto you:” (1 Peter 4:12 ).
So as you can clearly see, Difficult Times are a Reality. Whether you accept it or not, Difficult Times are a part of life. We can’t escape them nor will we be excluded or exempted from them. The truth of the matter is, at some point (s) we all will encounter them.
Perhaps you’ve heard it said before in life, when it comes to a storm there are three types of people. You are in a storm, you’ve just come out of a storm, or you are headed for a storm. So it is in Part One of this weekly devotion we’ve established the Reality of having and facing Difficult Times. Next week in Part Two, we will begin to look at how we should Respond and React to Difficult Times. Although they we will face and have them in life, we will begin to look at “How To Make It Through Difficult Times”.
