Historical Glance
In 1915, a group of spirit-filled Christians came together to organize the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. These God fearing members were Mr. & Mrs. John Cody, who later became a deacon, Mrs. Hattie Campbell and daughters Dora Lee Dorsey and Ida Jackson, Mother Laura Davis, Deacon HeShee, Rev. Schuler, wife Belle Schuler and son Robert Schuler. Rev. George Scarlett was called as the 1st Pastor.
In 1924, Rev. J. W. Walker was called as pastor of Mt. Moriah. Under his leadership in 1927 a new church was built and the membership grew tremendously.
In 1935 Rev. John White Driskell, of Daytona Beach became the next pastor of Mt. Moriah. There was approximately 125 members when Rev. Driskell accepted the call to pastor on a bi-monthly basis.  The church had several renovations done and a parsonage was built for Rev. and Sister Laura Driskell.  His leadership led to the purchase of land for a new church and in 1963 the groundbreaking ceremony was held for land that had been purchased at the corner of Adams Street and Florida Avenue in Palm Bay.
The new church was consecrated on June 14, 1964 with Rev. James Massey preaching the dedication sermon. We can praise God because this stalwart man of God retired after leading the congregation for 40 years.
Rev. Jesse Buggs accepted the call to Mt. Moriah in 1976 and led the church in a mortgage burning ceremony in 1979.
In October 1982 God sent to the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church a Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Lecturer, Counselor and a Visionary. Ordained by God, Rev. Harvey L. Riley was sent to lead His people. He was installed as pastor on February 27, 1983 and served well until his death November 2012.  His wife, Sister Johnnie Riley, is still a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Moriah.
In December 2012, Dr. Norman Gleason was voted as the Interim Pastor of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Under Dr. Gleason the church continue its mandate of Christian education and mission work.
In November 2014, through prayer and hard work, the church called Dr. Quintin P. Woods, Sr. as its next pastor. It was truly a blessing for the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church as Dr. Woods accepted the call and began this journey on December 30, 2014.
Installation services for Dr. Woods was held on March 22. 2015, and the installation message was done by Bishop. Calvin Woods, Sr. his father.
To God Be The Glory!!!
